Yehudi Menuhin School founder to play at Arundells

The Dominic Seligman Agency returns to Arundells on Thursday 10th November.

International concert pianist Ronan Magill will perform J.S. Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations BWV 988 on Edward Heath’s beloved Steinway piano in the venue’s drawing room.

The programme which starts at 7:00pm will also include Chopin’s great Sonata no.3 in B minor op.58 & Nocturne in E flat op.55 no.2.

Ronan Magill is a British concert pianist and composer. He was one of the last pupils of Benjamin Britten who wrote of him, “I was amazed at his general musicality and intelligence, and his is a remarkable gift.”

Magill was a founder member of the Yehudi Menuhin School and his later teachers included Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and Nikita Magaloff.

As a composer, his striking piano work “Titanic” is a suite of five pieces describing the power of the sea.

He currently divides his time between living in Japan and the UK.

Former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath bequeathed the 17th Century dwelling which has six distinct architectural styles to a Charitable Foundation set up in his name following his death in 2005.

Tickets are priced at £30 and are available from the Arundells website here.
