Work begins to transform former Buzz Bingo site into quirky cinema

Work has begun at the former Buzz Bingo site to transform the vacant building into an Everyman Cinema.

The quirky cinema company submitted a planning application in June this year to turn the former Buzz Bingo on 17 Endless Street into a cinema.

The large site has been vacant since 2019. Now, the cinema company hope to turn the space into “an attractive a high-quality cinema which enhances Salisbury City Centre.”

According to the approved planning application, according to the plans, the cinema will include four screens, a foyer and lounge and bar areas.

The plans say the bars will provide a place for customers to buy cinema tickets, typical cinema food of popcorn and drinks as well as Everyman’s “Spielburger” food offering.

Everyman says they plan to “restore and highlight” the art deco features of the building while furnishing the foyer, lounge and waiting areas for the cinema with loose sofas, tables, and other furniture. The auditoriums “will be decorated to the high standard found across Everyman’s portfolio of cinemas.”

At Everyman Cinema viewers can enjoy alcoholic beverages and quality food offerings while sitting on comfy sofas that create a homely, luxury cinema experience.

Builders at the site say it is “a big job” and is likely to take six-seven months to complete.
