Salisbury City Council celebrates winners of Scarecrow, Garden and Allotment Competitions

On Tuesday 4th October, Salisbury City Council welcomed local residents to Salisbury Guildhall to celebrate the winners of the Scarecrow, Gardens and Allotment Competitions.

Gold, silver and bronze awards were given to the lucky winners of the Scarecrow Competition. Entries were judged by the Mayor of Salisbury and ranged from The 8th Salisbury Scouts, Cubs and Beavers Group for their fantastic scarecrows around a campfire to the Early Intervention Services’ portrayal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Garden Competition saw entries across the city, including several community gardens, winning silver and gold awards for their amazing green spaces.

The Parks Department said they would like to thank Jacqui Neale of Daisy Chain Gardening Services for giving her time to judge.

Many certificates were given out in the Allotment Competition. Wardens at the allotment sites had nominated nine Best Newcomers who were all congratulated on their allotments.

The overall winner was announced as Stephen and Carole Day at the Tunnel.
