Two men have died at Salisbury District Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19

Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed the death of two men in their 40s and 70s on Saturday 4th December who had tested positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson said, “Sadly, we can confirm that two patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Saturday 4th December.

“One patient was in his 40s and had underlying health conditions. The other patient was in his 70s, also with underlying health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.”

230 patients in total have now passed away at Salisbury District Hospital, within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test. There are currently 9 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

“We would ask the public to remain cautious and to take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission, such as mask wearing in crowded places and good hand hygiene. In addition, people should take up the invitation for a COVID-19 vaccine when offered. It is never too late to get a first vaccine.”
