Table toppers Salisbury face Dorchester at Ray Mac

High-flying Salisbury FC return to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium this weekend as league leaders for their clash against Dorchester Town.

Brian Dutton’s side are four points clear at the top of the table following last weekend’s comeback win away at Hanwell Town, and Chesham getting the better of second-placed Gosport Borough.

This weekend’s visitors are local rivals Dorchester Town, who currently sit just two points above the relegation spots at the other end of the table.

The Magpies have had a bit of a strange season so far, drawing against some of the teams near the top of the table, including Gosport, but struggling against mid-table and lower-ranked sides.

Last time out, they lost 2-1 at home to Bracknell Town on Tuesday evening after giving Basingstoke a 4-1 thrashing on Saturday.

Tommy Killick took over the management of the team alongside Glenn Howes after he left Poole Town earlier this season. A pairing well-known to Salisbury supporters.

The pair will be looking to turn around the club’s season and push up the table.

Meanwhile, things have been going well for Salisbury, with only one defeat so far this season. Dutton’s squad is looking stronger as the season progresses, with Assistant Manager Callum Hart stating that they are happy with the competition they now have for places.

New signing and last season’s league top scorer, Harry Williams, scored on his debut last weekend, and I am sure will be hoping to also score on his home debut.

There is a buzz back at the Ray Mac with crowds growing game on game, so maybe it’s time to get up to the game.

Tickets can be purchased online from the club website at a lower price than at the gate – https://salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/
