Salisbury Radio were given access to the new shop in the Old George Mall ahead of the official opening tomorrow.
The shop is fully stocked and ready for the expected crowds who will arrive at the official opening ceremony, which starts at 9:30 am, with doors opening at 10 am tomorrow morning (13th September).
As the shop opens tomorrow, a DJ will welcome shoppers through the door alongside store manager Christopher Carter and his staff.
Christopher told Salisbury Radio, “Excitement isn’t the word, honestly, it’s a long time coming. After years of speculation, rumours, Facebook comments, news articles… Finally, we can say we have landed in Salisbury, and we’re really excited to showcase the latest offering that we have in one of the most beautiful stores we have in our estate to the Salisbury Customer.
Customers can expect to be greeted with a smile as a minimum a bit of fun on opening day for sure.
“Customer experience is as important as the product that we offer. It’s all about the customer experience from the moment they approach our windows to the moment they are served on the tills to the thank you and goodbye as they leave the store.
“We want to make sure everybody has the most amazing experience in store and want to come back and they tell their friends.”
Primark UK Retail Director added: “Today marks an important milestone for Primark as we open our first store in England in more than two years – our 192nd store in the UK.
We made a commitment to invest £140 million in our UK store estate to help create stores that customers want to spend time and bring shoppers back to the high street and I’m delighted to see this store open as part of that commitment. We hope that this store will excite and delight Salisbury residents and visitors alike.”
The 29,700 sq ft store in the old BHS building in the Old George Mall covers two floors and offers the range of products that Primark is known for.
The opening of the new store, which comes as part of Primark’s £140m investment in UK retail by the end of 2024, has created more than 100 new roles.
Primark Salisbury is the retailer’s first new store opening in England in over two years and will become Primark’s 192nd in the UK.
Something that might be new to Primark shoppers in Salisbury are the self service check-outs. Salisbury is the 23rd Primark store to open with these installed. There are also tills with staff that take cash and card payments too.
