Matt Tubbs’ Poole head to the Ray Mac

Former Salisbury Striker Matt Tubbs brings his Poole Town side to the Ray Mac this weekend, seeking revenge.

It will be less than two weeks since Salisbury won a nine-goal epic against Poole in the reverse fixture.

Brian Dutton’s side trailed 3-1 at halftime in that fixture. The Whites showed spirit and determination to win the game 5-4 in stoppage time.

Salisbury then travelled to Bracknell Town, where they lost 2-1 as their inconsistent start to 2024 continued.

Poole has gone on to suffer back-to-back defeats since, making it four straight defeats, the final three all coming at home.

Poole have failed to score in their last two losses, first losing 3-0 to Hanwell Town and then, in midweek, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hayes and Yeading.

Only Harrow Borough have picked up fewer points than Poole in their last six fixtures. Matt Tubbs’s side has conceded fifteen goals and collected six points from a possible 18.

The Whites still sit second in the table but have lost ground on leaders Chesham United, who are on a sensational run of form.

Salisbury have had another departure from the squad as defender Sam Perry has joined Macclesfield Town, ending his stay at the Ray Mac.

A new bar will also be open at the Ray Mac this week, with the first opening of the Rude Giant Sports Bar. Tickets for the game can be bought online ahead of the game – https://salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/
