Improvement works on A3094 Netherhampton Road

The A3094 Netherhampton Road at Quidhampton will be closed to all vehicles from Monday, 12th February, to Friday, 16th February, as Wiltshire Council works to reconstruct the road.

The full closure will see the road rebuilt and repaired, with depressions being dug out to improve the surface and prevent further damage. While the road is closed, the council will also do other minor repairs, such as hedge clearing and gully cleaning.

Cllr Caroline Thomas, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works at Quidhampton, but this is an essential project to rebuild the road and improve it for years to come.

“We are carrying out this work during half-term to try to minimise disruption as much as possible, but there may be some delays, and diversions will be in place throughout the week.

“We have committed in our Business Plan to having well-connected communities, and to help with this, we are investing a further £10m over the next two years into maintaining and resurfacing the county’s roads.

“To make the most of the road closure and minimise disruption in the future, we are also using this closure to carry out additional maintenance along the road. These key improvements are essential to maintaining our road network and improving people’s journeys.”

Traffic management will be in place during the works, with the closure and diversion route clearly indicated by traffic signs.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible. However, delays are likely due to the nature of the work.
