League leaders up next at the Ray Mac

Runaway league leaders are the visitors to the Ray Mac this Saturday (9th March) in a top-of-the-table clash against Salisbury FC.

Brian Dutton’s side currently sit in second place in the league, 15 points behind Chesham, as they enter the last ten games of the season.

Salisbury have had a week off after their game at Plymouth Parkway was called off at the last minute last weekend, but have been busy in the transfer market, announcing two arrivals this week.

Jack Ball returns to the club on loan from Farnborough FC having played for Salisbury a couple of seasons ago. He is joined by Levi Irving. The forward joins from Swindon Supermarine and trained with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.

Brian Dutton said of the arrivals, “It’s been a frantic 24 hours with the earlier signing of Jack Ball returning to the Club on loan from Farnborough FC and then Levi joining us from Supermarine.

“Levi trained well with the lads on Tuesday evening and has slotted straight into the squad. Levi is a hardworking forward who gives us a different option up front so we’re pleased to get both of these over the line.

Chesham arrive in fine form and are on a long unbeaten run. They have picked up 26 from a possible 30 points in their last ten games and don’t look like slowing down anytime soon.

Ricky German has been on a rich scoring run this season, propelling the Buckinghamshire-based side to the edge of promotion. Last time out, it was German who scored the only goal of the game as they won away at Hendon.

The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday (9th March), with tickets available online on the club’s website – https://salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/

It’s the first of two home games in a row, the following week Merthyr Town are the visitors on Saturday 16th. The game is also a chance to donate to Salisbury Radio’s Big Easter Appeal as we and the club ask supporters to ‘Bring a tin to the match’ if they can.
