Don’t travel unless you have a ticket

Unless you have a ticket, we are being warned not to travel to today’s (6th May) big playoff final between AFC Totton and Salisbury.

The match sold out in less than two days, and Totton has said that people should not try to attend the match without a ticket.

Those without a ticket have plenty of ways to keep up with what is happening at the Snows Stadium; Salisbury Radio have a special show from 2 pm with Andy at the match, with Craig in the studio bringing you updates live until the match reaches a conclusion.

If the two teams are level at the end of 90 minutes, the game will go to extra time, then penalties if needed.

On a statement on their website, AFC Totton said, “The club is obliged to follow Health & Safety regulations regarding the staging of events at sporting venues and, as such, there will be a significant presence of stewards, police from the Football Intelligence Unit and regular police officers – so, to avoid any unnecessary aggravation on what is a massive day for both of the football clubs involved, please DO NOT come to the ground unless you already have a valid ticket.

“Gates will open at 12:00-noon; if you do have a valid ticket, please arrive at the ground by 1:30pm due to car parking congestion and the need to keep clear access for emergency vehicles.

“There is limited parking space at the stadium itself but FREE parking is available on the Calmore Industrial Estate, which is just a short walk from the stadium. Set your Sat Navs for S040 3SA.”

Meanwhile, Salisbury FC are set to party after today’s game, whatever the result. They are inviting all supporters to the Ray Mac after the final whistle down the A36 to celebrate the end of a record-breaking season.

Salisbury FC said, “Doors will open at 7 pm, so come and join us and be part of a huge night at the club. Whether we’re celebrating victory, or toasting the end of an epic season, we need to do it together, at our home.”

Come on you Whites!
