Fisherton Mill are fundraising for a life-saving defibrillator: Here’s how you can help

Fisherton Mill, a gallery, art studio and café on Fisherton Street are fundraising to install a defibrillator in their courtyard to help protect customers, staff and studio tenants.

The gallery is asking for donations towards the cost of a defibrillator, and hope to raise ÂŁ2500.

ÂŁ500 towards the life-saving equipment will be funded by Fisherton Mill themselves. They hope to purchase the defibrillator through the British Heart Foundation, so they can further support a charity that saves lives through groundbreaking cardiovascular research.

Jane Wilkinson, Administration Manager at Fisherton Mill said, “We have been watching how good this equipment is and how many lives it has saved and there isn’t one in the immediate area. We have a whole load of visitors and customers, the café is always busy, and we have lots of people coming and going, so we thought it would be an amazing thing to have.

“All the staff have recently had first aid courses here, and we just think we are missing that vital piece of equipment. We have four weeks to raise the money and we are hoping people will support us to get there”.

To encourage donors to dig deep, people who donate £50 or more will be treated to coffee and cake for two at the Fisherton Mill Gallery Café.

“We have set up a Crowdfunding page where you can donate, from as little to as much as you like.

“We want everybody to feel safe and happy here and the defibrillator will certainly make a difference to that. It would be amazing to have one, it would make everyone feel safer, happier and reassured,” added Jane.
