A fundraiser in memory of Freddie Fontete-Jones has raised over £35,000

A fundraiser in memory of Freddie Fontete-Jones has raised over £35,000.

Organised by a friend of Freddie’s ⁣on behalf of his closest friends, the fundraiser smashed its initial target of £2,000 within half an hour of the fundraising page going live on Friday 25th March 2022.

“We are looking for any support that people could spare to support Freddie’s family in making sure our best friend and brother gets the celebration worthy of the young king he was at his funeral,” writes the organiser on the Go Fund Me page.

He goes on to say, “Freddie was as everyone knows the kindest and most caring person you could ever come across. We were all so lucky to have him in our lives and share the incredible memories we have with him! We want to celebrate him in style!

“Anything anyone can contribute would be amazing! Thank you in advance. We love you Freddie.”

The fundraiser has currently received around 1,300 donations and raised an astonishing total of £35,547 with more donations being added by the day.

Local businesses have also come forward to show their support.

Inc. & Kludo Bar, on Milford Street, Salisbury, say many of their staff had the pleasure of calling Freddie a friend, and so, they have decided to show their support for Freddie’s Family and Family.

Writing on Instagram they said:

“Many of our staff had the pleasure of calling Freddie a friend and we are still devastated, as much of Salisbury is, at the loss of such a kind, funny soul.

“As a tribute to Freddie, and how much we teased him at his preferred shot choice, all sales of tequila rose during the month of March will be donated to the GoFundMe page that Freddie’s friends have set up in his memory.

“We will miss seeing Freddie’s huge smile at the weekends but he certainly won’t be forgotten 🤍”

Family run business, Pizza Venti, on Fisherton Street, has organised a fundraising event in their restaurant with all dine-in and takeaways sales being donated to the family.

Taking to social media to announce the event, Pizza Venti said,

“In the lights of the tragic events that took place in Salisbury, that led to the loss of the life of Freddie Fontete-Jones.

“We would like to show our support to their family and we will organize on Sunday, 6th of March a fundraising event in our little restaurant with all dine-in and takeaways sales (Deliveries not included) being donated to the family.

“We didn’t know Freddie, but we know many of his friends and we’ve seen how much this news has affected them…The reason why I decided to support the family.

“We are really sorry for your loss. God rest your soul, Freddie!”
