Youths who threw eggs and assaulted a pedestrian arrested

Two youths have been identified and arrested by Wiltshire Police in connection with throwing eggs and assaulting a member of the public in Queen Elizabeth Gardens earlier this week.

The incident occurred at the entrance to Town Path at approximately 5pm on 19th July 2022.

One member of the public who challenged the group on their behaviour was assaulted and had his headphones stolen.

Wiltshire Police say, two youths have now been identified via police enquiries and have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

They have currently been released on bail with conditions not to attend the city centre, Harnham, or be in a group environment of more than two people.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said, “There will be an increased police presence in and around Salisbury city centre, Queen Elizabeth Gardens and Harnham over the summer period.

“We would urge any members of the public who have concerns regarding this group of youths to contact police via 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.”
