Whites looking for back-to-back wins in Wiltshire derby

Salisbury have started the season well, unbeaten in their first two games and will look to add to that as they welcome pointless Swindon Supermarine to the Ray Mac this evening.

It’s the first game of the season under the floodlights, and supporters arriving at the ground should be aware that part of the Portway is closed from the Beehive Roundabout, so anyone arriving after 7 pm will have to go the ‘long way round’ to get the to ground.

Brian Dutton’s side have collected four points from their opening two games, keeping things tight at the back in the process and kept a clean sheet away at Totton at the weekend.

Supermarine’s manager, Lee Spalding, will be disappointed by his side’s start to the season, conceding 11 on the way to two defeats.

The Swindon side narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season, finishing one spot off in 6th and will provide a more stern test than the first two results suggest.

All of Salisbury’s goals so far this season have come to from the penalty spot, through Sido Jombati, and Dutton will be hoping to see an improvement in scoring from open play.

Dutton told the Salisbury Football Club website, “You don’t need any extra incentive when it’s a local derby. They’ll be up for it; we’ll be up for it!

“Their management team did excellent last season, finishing just outside of the playoffs, so they’ll be a tough test.”
