Two patients have died at Salisbury District Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19

Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed the death of two men today (31st January 2022) who had tested positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson for the hospital said, “Sadly, we can confirm that a further two patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died today, Monday 31st January.

“One patient was in his 80s and the other patient was in his 60s. Both had underlying health conditions. Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.”

While COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital is gradually going down, the hospital still continues to experience COVID-19 related deaths. 237 patients in total have now passed away.

There are currently 30 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

“We would ask the public to remain cautious and to take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission, such as mask wearing in crowded places and good hand hygiene. In addition, people should take up the invitation for a COVID-19 vaccine when offered. It is never too late to get a first vaccine.”
