Strike action to affect Salisbury travellers

Train travel through Salisbury will again be disrupted due to industrial action, with no trains through the city.

The RMT, TSSA, and Unite trade unions have announced industrial action at Network Rail and a number of train operators, including South Western Railway and GWR.

Industrial action will take place on Saturday, 5, Monday, 7 and Wednesday, 9 November. This means services will be severely disrupted from Saturday, 5 November, up to and including Wednesday, 9 November. 

Saturday 5 November

No trains from Salisbury with severely reduced service will operate between 07:30 and 18:30 only, with our closest stations with services being Southampton, Westbury and Basingstoke.

Sunday 6 November

First services will start much later than usual and be very busy – please avoid them if you can.

Monday 7 November

No trains from Salisbury with severely reduced service will operate between 07:30 and 18:30 only, with our closest stations with services being Southampton, Westbury and Basingstoke.

Tuesday 8 November

First services will start much later than usual and be very busy – please avoid them if you can.

Wednesday 9 November

No trains from Salisbury with severely reduced service will operate between 07:30 and 18:30 only, with our closest stations with services being Southampton, Westbury and Basingstoke.

Thursday 10 November

First services will start much later than usual and be very busy – please avoid them if you can.

Customers who have already purchased tickets for strike days can claim a full refund or amend their ticket; those who travel and are delayed may be entitled to delay repay compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more. Season ticket holders can apply for compensation through the Delay Repay scheme.
