Song for Christmas 2023 schools announced

Song for Christmas is back, and it’s bigger than before, with 20 schools participating in our competition.

There is a bigger prize: this year’s winning school will collect a £250 book voucher and a shiny trophy. Our runner-up school will also receive a £150 book voucher. All thanks to our partners at Elite Care.

The winning school will be announced by Mr Christmas himself, Matt Rogers, on Saturday, 23rd December, at 1:20 pm – the perfect Christmas present for the schools winning a pile of new books for their libraries.

Schools taking part this year in alphabetical order are:

Alderbury & West Grimstead Primary School
Amesbury Archer Primary School
Amesbury Primary School
Bemerton St John Primary School
Downton Primary School

Each school will be performing a different song, and their songs will be judged blind by our independent panel of judges, who are all former teachers in the Salisbury area.

Songs will be played Monday to Saturday from Friday, 1st December, with each song being played twice on the day it is broadcast.

All songs will be available to download from this website for £1 after they have been played on the radio at 8:20 am during Breakfast during the week and 9:20 am on Saturdays.

The song will be then repeated at 3:20 pm on weekdays and 1:20 pm on Saturdays.

Proceeds from the sales will go to Salisbury Hospice Charity.
