The firework event at Salisbury Racecourse has been cancelled due to the bad weather over the last few days.
The heavy rain has left areas at the course waterlogged and unfit for hosting crowds.
The event organised by Wilton Rotary Club is one of the largest displays locally, with thousands of people expected to attend.
A statement put out by Salisbury Racecourse said: “We are sorry to inform you all that this year’s Rotary Fireworks Night (Saturday 5th November) here at Salisbury Racecourse has sadly been cancelled.
Heavy rain (130mm) over the last few days has left the grassed car parks and lawns waterlogged, resulting in possible safety and welfare issues for the 3,000+ crowd that we were expecting. Our team have tried their very best to ensure the event could still go ahead, but with further rain forecast for Saturday, it has simply not been possible.
All tickets purchased so far will be fully refunded within the next 48 hours.“
The event had been planned to take place this coming Saturday (5th November).
