Salisbury’s Beehive Park and Ride reopens

Wiltshire Council’s Beehive Park and Ride site in Salisbury will reopen to the public with buses running again from Monday 23rd May 2022.

For the last two years, the Beehive site has played a part in the local Covid-19 response and has been used as a government drive-through coronavirus testing facility.

It is one of five conveniently located Park and Ride sites on the main routes into Salisbury.

• Beehive A345 Castle Road (north of the city)
• Britford A338 Downton Road (south of the city)
• London Road A30 London Road (north east of the city)
• Petersfinger A36 Southampton Road (south east of the city)
• Wilton off A36 The Avenue (west of the city)

Buses will run every 30 minutes with the last buses from the city centre to the Beehive at 11.25pm.

Cllr Dr Mark McClelland, Cabinet Member for Transport said, “Reopening the Beehive Park and Ride is another step back to normal for the city of Salisbury.

“In addition to the savings that can be made by using the Park and Ride, it is also quick and easy to use and will help to improve air quality in the city centre.

“Three new electric buses are now serving our Park and Ride sites, minimising pollution and congestion in the city. This is an important part of our pledge to become carbon neutral by 2030 as part of our business plan, and we hope that as many people as possible will use Salisbury’s Park and Ride services and make a positive contribution to reducing pollution and congestion in our beautiful city.”

The adult return fare is £3 per person, representing a saving on the cost of all-day parking in the city centre. Concessionary bus passes are accepted on buses after 9.30am, so it’s free of charge to those who have one.

All of the council’s Park and Ride sites are open from Monday to Saturday but are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Bus services run from 6am until after 11pm, allowing passengers to easily work in the city or enjoy Salisbury’s night-time economy without driving into the city centre.
