Salisbury travel to Poole for rearranged fixture

Salisbury will hope to finally play their away game at Poole Town this evening, following two postponements of this fixture already.

The scheduling means that the two sides will meet twice in 12 days as Poole will visit the Ray Mac on Saturday, 10th February.

Poole Town, managed by former White, Matt Tubbs, have been in good form. They were on an unbeaten run of six games until they travelled to Tiverton Town at the weekend.

Tubbs’s side came away with no points after a 4-2 defeat away after a frustrating afternoon in Devon.

Poole currently sit ninth in the league but has played significantly fewer games than most teams, having only played 22 games, and only eight of them have been home fixtures.

Salisbury still sit second and did their promotion chances no harm with a dominant display against Sholing at the weekend.

Salisbury were already two-nil up, thanks to Jamar Smith and Noah Coppin, when the away side was reduced to 10 men following a rash challenge. Charlie Gunson added the third in injury time in the first half, giving Brian Dutton’s side a comfortable second half.

Brian Dutton has also added to his squad in the last 24 hours. The club have announced the signing of Jaden Perez from Farnborough. The 22-year-old central midfielder was a member of the Eastbourne Borough side that finished just outside of the playoffs last season.

Salisbury FC have created a fundraiser for their player Tom Bragg, who needs surgery to overcome an injury he suffered earlier this season.

In a statement, the club said, “This procedure will cost a whopping £5000! He is self-funding some of this; his family has made a large donation. There has also been support from Salisbury FC and our Chairman, Ian Hammond.

This leaves £500 to get Tom the operation he needs. We turn to you, our football community for a bit of help to get Braggy fully funded.”
