Salisbury sign young Exeter stopper on loan

Salisbury have signed Exeter City goalkeeper Harry Lee, 19, on loan until the end of the season.

The ‘keeper has come through the youth system at Torquay United and then Exeter City before making his league debut for the EFL League One side as a 17-year-old after coming on as a late substitute in a game against Derby County.

He’d already made his first team debut prior in the EFL Trophy, having made appearances against both Chelsea’s Under 21s and Cheltenham Town aged 16.

He has loan experience in non-league, having played for Weston-super-Mare earlier this season. He enjoyed a successful spell at the Optima Stadium, keeping eight clean sheets in 20 starts before being recalled in December last year.

He has also had loan spells at Dorchester Town and Plymouth Parkway over the last few years.

He arrives at Salisbury following the departure of Josh Gould, but his arrival was planned before Gould decided to leave.

Brian Dutton said, “Really pleased to have Harry on loan until the end of the season.

He’s had really positive loans at this level and the level above, so we’re lucky to have him. He met the lads Thursday night and trained really well.

I want to thank Exeter City and Marcus Flitcroft for helping get the deal done.

Harry Lee is expected to go straight into the starting lineup against Bracknell Town later this afternoon.
