Salisbury Radio technical upgrades

As Salisbury Radio continues to grow, we need to make some technical upgrades and update how we broadcast.

As well as being on DAB+ across Salisbury and the surrounding area, we are also available via various streaming platforms. Some of these are official services we have set up, and some others add us to their platforms.

Due to the increase in listener numbers, we are changing how our online streaming works – this means that some services we are not in control of may stop working.

We are currently in the process of updating the following services:

  • Amazon Alexa
  • RadioPlayer
  • TuneIn (which also powers Google Home speakers)
  • myTuner
  • Our website – salisburyradio.co.uk

Amazon Alexa Skills

We have updated Amazon with our latest stream information.

You might need to enable our new skill. You just need to say, ‘enable Salisbury Radio’.

Once you have the new skill enabled all you need to say is , ‘play Salisbury Radio’.

However, we have a legacy skill has been deleted. If you have it enabled, you may need to disable this skill.

You must do this via the Alexa App on your smartphone or tablet to remove the skill.

Open the Alexa app, select more at the bottom of the screen, and then ‘Skills & Games’. Search for Salisbury Radio.

You may also need to scroll down the page and click on ‘Your Skills’ and scroll through the list of enabled skills to remove legacy Salisbury Radio apps.

Other streaming services

Our station can also be streamed via services such as Streema, radio-uk.co.uk, uk-radio.net, radioplayeruk.com and other similar websites. These services add radio stations themselves and are not in our control, so they may stop working in the coming days.
