Pembroke Park Primary and Nursery recognised for “making a difference” in Primary School of the Year award

Pembroke Park has received a certificate of excellence from the Pearson National “Primary School of the Year” awards.

The certificate celebrates the school’s inclusive approach, with pupils achieving well against the odds and positively contributing to their community.

It recognises that the academy, part of Magna Learning Partnership (MLP) Trust, has overcome challenges to create a place where pupils, parents and the community feel pride and how leaders work with key partners to enrich the lives of children at the school.

Pembroke Park’s headteacher, Toni Hayzen, is thankful for the recognition; she said, “Staff at Pembroke are delighted that their hard work and dedication to the community has been recognised and celebrated.

It’s an absolute privilege to work within such a supportive Academy Trust and with such talented staff and leaders.

A huge thank you to our parents and community for their unwavering support and belief in the school!

Pembroke Park provides an education for all – with support for children with additional needs to challenge and extra opportunities, such as tutoring and Able and Gifted courses, for high-attaining pupils.

The curriculum is enriched with a wide range of opportunities, such as trips to the theatre, forest school, visiting speakers and regular competitive sports opportunities.

Working closely with agencies such as the local food bank, elderly residential home and The Bridge Project, children are provided opportunities to develop their leadership qualities and support their local community.

Visitors always comment on the calm and welcoming atmosphere at the school, and the community was delighted that the standard of education children receive was recently recognised by Ofsted.
