Partial closure order secured for Amesbury property following drug and ASB concerns

Local officers have secured a partial closure order for a property in Amesbury following concerns over drug use and antisocial behaviour.

Officers from the Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team obtained the order for a property in Redworth Drive, Archers Gate, Amesbury, from Salisbury Magistrates’ Court.

The order was sought following reports and concerns over dealing of class A and B drugs, anti-social behaviour, wanted offenders staying at the address, and cuckooing. In this exploitative practice, people take over a vulnerable person’s home and use it for criminal activities.

The order will remain in place until April 15, and a copy of the order is affixed to the address.

Until then, only the following are allowed to enter:
• The female tenant
• Any emergency services personnel
• Any employee/contractor from/acting on behalf of ABRI Housing Association

Regular checks of the property will be carried out by officers to ensure the order is being adhered to.

Anybody who is found in the premises who is not on the order can be arrested.

They are liable to imprisonment and/or a fine if found guilty.

Any concerns regarding unauthorised people entering the property should be reported via 101 or 999 in an emergency, quoting reference number 54230117013.
