Original owner to reopen Kludo bar

Alex Nettle has taken to social media to announce that he will reopen Kludo as a bar after the previous business occupiers went into voluntary administration.

The previous occupants trading as Kludo Inc went into voluntary liquidation following a long battle to stay open amid setbacks, closing the doors on Saturday, April 2nd.

Just two weeks later, there is better news for the building and the bar.

Alex was the original owner of Kludo, having renovated the building on the corner of Milford Street and Brown Street in the city around 20 years ago.

Alex said: “20 years ago I restored and refurbished a derelict, late 18th century, grade 2* listed property on the corner of Milford Street and Brown Street and founded Kludo Bar.

“So much of my life has gone into this beautiful old building and it appears that it needs me once again to bring back a little of the old ✨✨✨

“Hopefully, we’ll be back up and running by the end of the month, we’re going to do it bit by bit so please don’t expect it to look sparkling again over night, but with your support and our hard work we will make Kludo great again 🍻🎶🔥

“Thank you in advance for supporting my business and I look forward to seeing many faces, old and new when I am back behind the bar at Kludo 🙏🏼❤️

He also added that if any of the Kludo or Inc staff that would like to continue working there to get in contact with him ASAP.
