Nominate your ‘Salisbury Star’ this Christmas

Salisbury Radio have teamed up with Salisbury City Council, Salisbury BID and Experience Salisbury to highlight some of Salisbury’s best.

Salisbury’s first-ever ‘Walk of Stars’ will be laid down in Salisbury in late November to recognise some of the people around Salisbury and its surrounding areas who go above and beyond within their communities.

Hollywood Walk of Fame-style stars will be laid on the pavement on the edge of the Market Place under the Christmas lights.

One person from those nominated in each category will be chosen by a panel of judges and celebrated with a star in the ‘Walk of Stars’.

The categories are:

  • Volunteer
  • NHS Hero
  • Environmental Campaigner
  • Teacher / TA
  • Youth/Social Worker
  • Bravery Award
  • Supporting Wellbeing
  • Unsung Hero
  • Good Neighbour
  • Local Business
  • Carer/Young Carer
  • Sportsperson/Team
  • Lifetime Achievement

It’s free to make a nomination. You just need to provide a few details about why you feel they deserve to be on the ‘Walk of Stars’. Complete the form here – NOMINATIONS.

Andy Munns, a director at Salisbury Radio, said, “We are delighted to be involved with the Walk of Stars. When the idea was brought to us, I immediately thought it was a wonderful way of highlighting some of the work that goes on around Salisbury by individuals and groups to support others in the community.

The Walk of Stars will be on Kipper Alley on the edge of Salisbury Market Place

“We have teachers, social workers, volunteers, doctors and nurses, amongst many other roles, groups and companies that go above and beyond a job title.

“I can’t wait to hear about some of the amazing work that goes on behind closed doors and out of the spotlight.”

The Walk of Stars will be unveiled at 5:30 pm on the 24th of November at a launch event that will celebrate those who have been nominated and those selected to feature on the stars.

This celebration will feature music, festive fun, and an opportunity to hear from some of the city’s chosen ‘stars’ in person. Salisbury Radio will be on-site, broadcasting live as the Walk of Stars for 2023 is revealed to the public.

Be part of this historic moment as we recognise the outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact on our community.

“It’s an honour to shine a spotlight on those who make Salisbury such a vibrant and wonderful place to live,” says Ellie Burke, manager of Experience Salisbury “We invite everyone to take part in the nominating process and join us on 24 November to recognise the incredible stars that grace our city.”
