No trains through Salisbury this weekend

A combination of ASLEF industrial action and engineering work will leave Salisbury without a train service this weekend.

On Saturday, the ASLEF walkout means there are no trains running through Salisbury on either South Western Railway or Great Western Railway services.

On Sunday, engineering works in the Salisbury area means that there are no trains running through Salisbury either, meaning there will be replacement bus services running to and from the station.

Rail services will run from Gillingham west towards Exeter St Davids and from Basingstoke towards London.

The lines in the Salisbury area will be closed all day due to maintenance
work.

  • A revised service will run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke.
  • A revised service will run between Basingstoke and Andover.
  • Buses will run between Andover and Gillingham via Salisbury.
  • Buses will run between Basingstoke and Gillingham (non-stop).
  • A revised service will run between Gillingham and
    Exeter St Davids.
  • Reading to Salisbury services will not run.
  • Salisbury to Romsey via Southampton Central services will not run.
  • Buses will run between Salisbury and Southampton Central
    via Redbridge.
  • Buses will run between Southampton Central and Romsey
    via Eastleigh and Chandler’s Ford.

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel for the next week due to industrial action, meaning that ASLEF drivers are also on an overtime ban. This may mean short notice cancellation of train services until Friday, 6th October.
