The Old Ale and Coffee House

The Old Ale and Coffee House are one of the many great independent businesses in Salisbury but here at Love Salisbury, we love their unique pub, freshly made food, a sunny beer garden with quirky beach huts and their friendly staff.

The Old Ale and Coffee House add a bit of quirk to everything they do, whether it’s the garden hugs named Jago, Jabba and Jackson, the ping pong table in the garden, the phone booth inside the pub, the daily changing food specials, the wines supplied by Davys of London, the unsurpassed range of local and craft beers or the quirky photos and art that adorn the wall.

The Team at The Old Ale and Coffee House

“We’ve made something very unique,” said Ed Turner of Buff & Bear.

Only a hop away from Cathedral Close and the High Street, Old Ale and Coffee House is nestled among some of the other great Salisbury independents like Café Diwali, Sonder Coffee, Casa Fina, Regent Tailors and Captive World.

“We serve coffees and brunch from 10am, lunch and dinner through to 9pm. The pub is open till 10pm early week and 11pm on Thursday, Fridays and Saturday. Our Sunday roast is (we believe) the best in town.

“We host birthdays, wedding parties, dinners, drink parties and are one of the most popular Christmas party spots in town. We also have tasting events, live music on bank holidays and our Tuesday quiz has been full for the last 6 years!

“We think we’ve created a perfect pub – come down and give us a try,” added Ed.

Personnel Placements

Personnel Placements is an independent agency that has been working in the heart of our city-centre for over 35 years on Oatmeal Row.

The agency supports businesses with their recruitment and HR.

Lynne Rose, Managing Director at Personnel Placements said, “We care about the people that work as part of our team and about the people who come to us in search of support with their job search. This means listening and treating candidates and organisations as individuals – not numbers.

“We make sure we really get to know both the organisations and candidates we work with.”

Lynne says Personnel Placements love being a part of the Salisbury community and supporting local schools with careers and enterprise days.

“Members of our team also love to fundraise for Salisbury Hospitals Stars Appeal Charity,” added Lynne.

“We are a small team that is passionate about what we do and supporting local people and local business is at the heart of everything we do.”
