Local fire and rescue service advise drivers to take care as Met Office predict storms for Salisbury

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service have taken to Twitter to advise drivers to take care as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Salisbury tomorrow (20th October, 2021).

The Met Office website says, “a brief period of heavy rain, thunderstorms and very gusty winds may cause some disruption on Wednesday morning,” with heavy rain forecast to continue throughout the day.

The storm is due to begin at 12.30am on Wednesday morning, with a new batch of wind and rain coming in from the west later in the day.

The Met Office advises that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

A Tweet from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said, “With a few days of rain forecast, please take extra care whilst driving. Reduce your speed and remember distances are double in the wet conditions”.
