Live Escape Rooms Salisbury opens new escape room ‘The Brig’

Live Escape Rooms Salisbury has opened their new escape room experience at their historic venue in the city centre.

The new escape room, ‘The Brig’, is now open for bookings. Husband and wife owners Claire and Charlie Pitcher conceived and built their new room to complement their pirate game – ‘Pieces of Eight’.

‘The Brig’ sees teams of between two and five people shackled into the brig of a galleon ship at anchor in Salisbury Docks. The imprisoned crew must first find their keys to unchain themselves and then solve the puzzles scattered throughout their gaol to escape.

“But it doesn’t end there,” says Claire. “This time you have the on-going threat of the wrath of the executioner, who could come and check up on the prisoners at any time during their escape. See him, and you must pretend you’re not up to no good.”

The couple’s new experience is set in their 14th century, Grade II listed location in The Cross Keys Shopping Centre, built around its original timbers, low ceilings and creaking floors.

“The space really dictated what the theme was going to be for this game. An old wooden galleon sits perfectly here,” says Claire.

Even more exciting, is The Brig can be played as a versus to the puzzle chests ‘Pieces of Eight’. Up to 11 landlubbers can play an escape experience in the same space.

“They can see how each other are progressing,” Claire explains.

“It certainly brings out everyone’s competitive sides and it’s already popular with local Salisbury companies looking for team building ideas.”

Live Escape Rooms Salisbury has been awarded two accolades since the beginning of 2022. The first was being placed in the top 100 escape rooms in the UK. Most recently they were shortlisted for Business of the Year in The Business Excellence Awards 2022.

“We’re so happy to have our work in the city of Salisbury recognised by both the local business community as well as escape room enthusiasts and reviewers. We are also Number 1 Fun Thing To Do in Salisbury on Trip Advisor,” added Claire.

This summer work begins on their flagship experience in their 14th century venue ‘The Smallsbury Toy Company’.

“Plus we are having Music Nights at The Tavern and our paranormal investigations continue every weekend.”
