JOB: Multimedia Journalist

Can you clearly and concisely deliver ‘The Way It Is’ in south Wiltshire and west Hampshire?

The fair city of New Sarum will get a new local radio station in the summer this year.

As part of our arrangement with Muxcast One, Nation Broadcasting and neighbouring media company Love AndoverSalisbury Radio is poised to be the leading provider of local information to people in south Wiltshire and west Hampshire.

Our  ‘news you can use‘ concept will be exposed on two local radio services which are committed to serving the Salisbury area as well as digital and print media outlets.

New and existing multi-media services in Hampshire will form part of your contract.

We are seeking three people to join us to create and evolve our local news content.  We are looking for people who can collate, curate and create local news content that’s not only of use to people who live, work and play in our local areas, but that will be craved and desired by our audience.

You must have social media and website content writing skills.  Radio and ‘broadcast news journalism’ certification will be provided, if required.  NUJ membership will be applied and paid for as part of your employment.

Although this is an opportunity within a radio station environment, a news reading ‘voice’ is not essential.  However, a full understanding of how the modern consumer accesses content and how to deploy that content to them is essential.

Our emerging services include a ‘virtual studio’ TV news digest, Vodcasts and a raft of collaborative digital platforms including a growing series of local newspapers… and at least three radio stations!

If you have experience in identifying, sourcing and writing local news content for online we would love to hear from you.

A passion for doing whatever is necessary to ensure local people get access to local information is absolutely essential.

SALARIES BETWEEN £16,000 and £25,000 Plus, good pension contribution, 5 weeks holiday and other benefits.  Part time opportunities to suit your needs and lifestyle can be explored.

TO APPLY: Please email a current CV and covering letter, plus any other supporting information such as examples of previous work to: hello@salisburyradio.co.uk
