In pictures: The Flying Scotsman steams through Salisbury

The iconic Flying Scotsman stopped in Salisbury today (21st September) on a journey from London Victoria to the cathedral city.

The famous steam locomotive departed from London Victoria at 8.45am and made its first appearance in Salisbury at 11.45am.

It then made a circular journey down the South Coast to Eastleigh and back to Salisbury, displaying views of Southampton and the Solent. Finally, the Flying Scotsman departed Salisbury at around 7.06pm to return to London Victoria.
