The giant tree from Longleat Forest was delivered to the Cathedral by a team of specialists from Guyatts of Salisbury. To get the tree inside of the cathedral, the branches were flattened and the tree was carefully manoeuvred through the medieval entrance.

Kristian Guyatt from Guyatts of Salisbury said, “The delivery all went as it should. When you stop and think about what you are actually doing it can be a bit daunting. There is no room for error.
“I have been operating the Hiab cranes that lift the tree for over 20 years, so for me, I am lucky to have a lot of experience.”

The tree will now be stood up in the Cathedral and decorated for the festive period.
“We are always glad to be given the opportunity to do such a good thing within the city. It’s quite an honour in a way,” added Kristian.
