If it flies or drives…

Whether it flies or drives, Salisbury’s local radio station is honoured to bring you the sound and feel of the ‘Wheels and Wings’ event from Middle Wallop.

The Museum of Army Flying believe they may have some ‘late space’ tickets available for the currently sold out event which will feature over 40 aircraft and well over 300 vehicles.

Organisers of the event, which should see attendance from HRH Prince Michael of Kent and Chris Barrie (RImmer from hit TV show Red Dwarf) say, “This event is outdoors, with a limited capacity.

It will be fully Covid compliant”.

The event will showcase many of the finest classic aircraft and vehicles in the UK. Organisers tell us, “Wallop Wheels and Wings, takes place at the Army Flying Museum and the Army Air Corps airfield in Middle Wallop on 3 July 2021.”

“The day will feature 40 classic aircraft and over 300 ‘super and classic cars and motorcycles’.”

Other attractions include flypasts, a Kid’s Zone, a Military Area, a Corporate Village, Live Music, a Beer Tent, Food Court and Salisbury Radio broadcasting live. It is anticipated (depending on the weather) that five hot air balloons will also take-off from the event.

This year’s event welcomes Hampshire Fare Roadshow and Hop Back Brewery.

The museum covers the history of Army aviation from the balloon sections of the Royal Engineers, the establishment of the Royal Flying Corps in 1912 and the establishment of the distinctive blue berets of the Army Air Corps (AAC) in 1957.

Salisbury Radio will be there on the day, before turning its attention to the Salisbury Live event which launches at Salisbury Rugby Club at 3pm.
