Here’s how to get into the festive spirit in Salisbury this week

Struggling to get into the festive spirit this year? Do not fear! There are still plenty of festivities going on around the city this week to get you in the mood for Christmas.

Here’s what’s on in Salisbury this week.

Head to the Playhouse for Snow White and the Happy Ever After Beauty Salon
This magical performance is guaranteed to bring some much-needed cheer.

Set in a 1950s fairytale wonderland, Snow White is forced to become the new apprentice at her Aunt Trish’s beauty salon. A modern and inclusive twist on a classic tale, this show is feel-good fun for the whole family.

Performance dates and times for this week are:

  • Tuesday 21st December at 2:15pm and 7:00pm
  • Wednesday 22nd December at 2:15pm and 7:00pm
  • Thursday 23rd December 2:15pm and 7:00pm
  • Friday 24th December at 1:00pm and 5:30pm

Have the children finished school and do you still need to squeeze in some last-minute Christmas shopping?

Use the Nutcracker hide and seek as a way to get the children involved with visiting the independent stores of Salisbury. If you stumble across a giant 6.5ft tall nutcracker, snap a selfie, upload it to social media, and you could be in with the chance of winning a £50 Salisbury Gift Card.

Attend the Christmas Eve Choral Evensong at Salisbury Cathedral
Head on down to Salisbury Cathedral this Friday to begin your Christmas with this moving service of choral music, readings, and prayers sung by the Cathedral Choir.

Booking is not required for this service which begins at 5.30pm. More details here.

Stay up for Midnight Mass
Midnight Mass is one of the most popular services in the Christian year and marks the beginning of the celebration of Christmas and the great twelve days that take us through into the New Year to the Feast of Epiphany.

The service starts at 11pm and booking is not required.
