Here are the winners of the Great Salisbury Bake Off

As part of yesterday’s Foodie Sunday celebrations (4th September 2022), local bakers took part in The Great Salisbury Bake Off which gave budding bakers the opportunity to impress the judges with fantastic creations.

Overall, 11 fantastic cakes were entered into the competition which featured a lemon sponge, a floating flower pot cake, a teddy bear cake and many more.

Danny from Charter 1227 Catering, Dan from The Cake Forge and Craig and Beth from Love Salisbury judged the cakes and were looking for the best decorated, and most delicious.

Danny from Charter 1227 said, “To pick a winner was very difficult as there were so many delicious and well thought out entries. It’s always an honour to be asked to judge these competitions and to meet so many home cooks with a passion for baking, especially good to see so many of the next generation taking part.

“Well done to everyone that entered. I enjoy being part of Salisbury’s Foodie Sunday, from doing cookery demonstrations and judging competitions to serving our street food. Salisbury City Council does a such great job organising the day. I’m looking forward to next year already.”

Foodie Sunday marked the tenth and final day of Taste Salisbury; a food and drink celebration across the city.

The event featured food demos, an array of local vendors, live music and street performers. An estimated 2000 people visited the food and drink extravaganza and Salisbury City Council would like to thank everyone who visited and took part in the event.
