FIRST LOOK: The Chapel reopens after half a million-pound refurb

The Chapel Nightclub reopens today (14th October 2022) after a half-a-million-pound refurbishment. Love Salisbury has your exclusive first look.

The city’s nightclub was taken on by Epic Bars and Clubs in May this year when the previous owners, Jonty and Amanda Newbery, decided that after 25 years of fun and excitement, it was time to hand the venue over to operators who have the resources to take the club to the next level.

And that’s exactly what Epic Bars and Clubs have done. Retaining all the features that make The Chapel so iconic – its statement organ, its Grade II pews, and its high gold and red ceiling, the group have transformed the venue into a destination nightclub for the city.

Epic is run by a group of friends who love to transform unique and ambitious spaces into exciting bars and clubs. At The Chapel, they have taken on the 19th Century Pentecostal Church and created an exciting, modern and high-tech late-night venue.

In the Disco room, you’ll find an unrecognisable transformation with the biggest light-up disco dancefloor of all of Epic’s 11 venues. There are 24 shimmering disco balls and six hireable booths perfect for parties.

In the main room, you’ll find high-tech lighting rigs and lasers, LED screens, mirror walls, two bars and a DJ both in front of the organ.

There are six more booths in the main room and the venue has an overall capacity of over 1,000 people.

Nick Martindale, PR Director of Epic Bars and Clubs said, “We are beyond thrilled to be opening the doors of the brand new Chapel Nightclub.

“It’s been an extraordinary business for 25 years and now we’ve made it fit for 2022 and beyond; it really has redefined how a Salisbury’s night out looks and I urge everyone to come and see it. Life is a party and that is exactly what Salisbury deserves!”

The newly owned venue has created around 50 jobs with 80% of bar and door staff retained from the previous setup.

Epic Bars and Clubs have already added to Salisbury’s nightlife scene with Botanic Cocktail Bar. The up-market cocktail bar brings affordable, hand-shaken cocktails to the city centre.

The former Vestry venue received a quarter of a million-pound transformation and now features foliage walls, neon signs, a brand new dancefloor, and a photo booth.

The new Chapel Nightclub will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights 10.00pm until 3.30am.

Guest list tickets and VIP booths are bookable via the website.
