Explore The Art of Salisbury River Park

A free exhibition celebrating the artwork created for the Salisbury River Park is now open for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Salisbury River Park is a large joint project between the Environment Agency, Wiltshire Council and Salisbury City Council to protect and enhance the city’s ecology, improve amenities and reduce flood risk.

As part of the project, local schools, community groups and artists have participated in a public art programme curated and commissioned by public art commissioning agency Studio Response to produce a variety of permanent artworks for the project.

From today until Saturday, 31st August, the Young Gallery, Salisbury, is hosting The Art of Salisbury River Park exhibition, where visitors can learn about the artists and how the art was created.

Andy Wallis, the Environment Agency’s project lead, said, “We are delighted that The Art of Salisbury River Park is now open to the public. This exhibition gives Salisbury’s residents and visitors the opportunity to reconnect with and celebrate the city’s unique environment, important landscape and rich biodiversity, through inspiring works of art specially created for the River Park.

“We invite everyone to visit the exhibition, especially in the upcoming school half term and summer holidays.

“The River Park itself is nearing completion and will provide many long-lasting benefits to Salisbury, and we look forward to its official opening later this year.”

The exhibition is free to enter and is open from Monday – Saturday in the Young Gallery’s Gallery 3. For more information, including opening times, visit https://younggallerysalisbury.co.uk/
