Closure of the Crematorium during July and August

Salisbury City Council has announced the replacement of the roof at Salisbury Crematorium, which requires essential repairs.

Whilst this work is being carried out, the roof’s insulation will be improved to help lower the carbon footprint of the building.

In 2019 Salisbury City Council declared a Climate Change Emergency, with one of their commitments being to undertake a comprehensive programme of improvement of the insulation of all council-owned property.

This will mean that the Crematorium Chapel will be closed for services during July & August whilst these works are carried out. Cremations will continue onsite as usual.

While building works occur, the council will work in partnership with the Holy Redeemer Church, Fotherby Crescent, Salisbury, to ensure that services can occur as usual in this venue.
