Cast announced for new Playhouse production

Wiltshire Creative have announced the cast for their new production.

Robert Bowman and Rebecca Cooper return to Salisbury for the 35^th Alan Ayckbourn play to be performed at Salisbury Playhouse.

‘A Chorus of Disapproval’ premieres on Tuesday 30th April. The play follows a recent widow who joins his local Amateur Operatic Society in hope of finding new friends and meaning in his life.

Gareth Machin, Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative, said, “What a brilliant cast we have coming together for Alan Ayckbourn’s glorious comedy A Chorus of Disapproval.

“I am thrilled to welcome back some familiar faces who have previously graced the Playhouse stage, as well as new ones, who are set to bring an Ayckbourn classic to our Salisbury audience.”

In 2023, Wiltshire Creative put on a total of six in-house productions, including How the Other Half Loves by Alan Ayckbourn, Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense by Robert Goodale and David Goodale and an adaptation of The Girl on the Train – the thriller based on the bestselling novel by Paula Hawkins.

Robert Bowman returns to Salisbury Playhouse to play Dafydd Ap Llewellyn, he previously appeared in Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Theatre credits also include Twelfth Night, The Wives Excuse and The Crucible (Gielgud Theatre)

Rebecca Cooper also returns to Salisbury Playhouse to play Hannah Llewellyn. She previously appeared in How the Other Half Loves, Snow White and the Happy Ever After Beauty Salon.
