Bank Holiday fun back on Durrington Rec

Retro at the Rec and Sunday Funday return in Durrington this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Sunday Funday is in its 14th year, and Retro is in its 7th-year return; between them, the events have raised tens of thousands of pounds for local schools, groups and charities.

Organisers and Durrington residents Dion and Emma Spencer hope the local communities come and support the charity event again this year.

Retro at the Rec

The newer of the two events kicks off the weekend of Fun on Saturday, 26th August, at 5:30 pm.

Disco Dion and Dj Paul Alex will be playing the tunes as they take you from the 70s to the Noughties, with a few twists and turns in between!!

As well as the music, there will also be a bar, inflatables, food, ice cream, face painting and some bonkers Retro fun with entertainment until 10:30 pm.

Sunday Funday

Think summer fete, with some extra Sunday Funday sprinkled on top. Sunday Funday kicks off at Midday on Sunday, 27th August, with a range of activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Disco Dion will bring the fun and games to the arena with an afternoon packed full of games, competitions and dances for children to participate in (and the grown-ups too!)

There will also be sessions with the following groups or organisations:

  • Durrington football club.
  • Clubbercise with Emma.
  • AYDC Dance Company.
  • Wildcatz Warriors Cheerleaders.

Stalls, inflatables, face painting, food, ice cream, car boot sale and more!

Salisbury Radio will be at the event with a big bag of our car stickers, and we will Spin to Win LIVE on stage with Dion during the afternoon.

On top of all of that, there will also be character visits and our legendary tug-of-war competition!
