A spooktacular guide to Halloween in Salisbury

Halloween is frightfully close, so if you are stuck for ideas check out our guide to the spookiest day of the year.

For the kids

The Wizards of Once Halloween Quest at Stonehenge
Head to Stonehenge for a fantastical day out this Halloween. Explore the brand-new adventure trail inspired by Cressida Cowell’s bestselling Wizards of Once series. Will you find the ingredients for the Spell to get rid of Witches and uncover the location of the Cup of Second Chances?

Cholderton SCARE Breeds Farm
Come along, if you dare, to Cholderton SCARE Breeds Farm for some Halloween celebrations. Follow the new interactive spooky trail and try and find all of the freaky friends down on the farm.

On Saturday 30th September, get your dancing shoes on for a family Halloween party with tunes supplied by Disco Dion. Book your tickets here.

Halloween Family Day at Fordingbridge Farm Shop
Once you have carved your pumpkin masterpiece head on over to Fordingbridge Farm Shop on Saturday 30th September for a day of Halloween family fun.

Take part in a raffle in aid of Salisbury Hospital’s charity the Stars Appeal with the chance to win prizes including lunch for two at the Bat and Ball, a £50 voucher for Fordingbridge Farm Shop, cream tea for two at the Potting Shed, a wine hamper, and much more.

For the children, take part in the pumpkin carving competition judged by chef James from The Pig Hotel. All children will receive a packet of pumpkin seeds to take home and grow for next year.

Free face painting at Cross Keys Shopping Centre
Need some creepy facepaint to complete your Halloween costume? Head on down to Cross Key Shopping Centre between 11am-4pm for some free face painting by Shelley Gray.

For the grown-ups

Halloween Ghost Hunt at Live Escape Salisbury
This is an opportunity for exclusive overnight access to join Spire Spooks Paranormal and explore Live Escape Salisbury’s 14th-century building at Salisbury’s Cross Keys Shopping Centre on the 30th October 9pm-9am.

Dragging noises, ghostly figures at windows and plates smashing in the kitchen are just some of the activity Spire Spooks have witnessed here. Use the latest investigation equipment: REM Pods, EMF Meters, SLS Cameras to hunt down paranormal activity. Experience table tipping and talk to the spirits via table and glass.

Halloween at the George and Dragon
Celebrate the spookiest day of the year on the 30th September with fun, frolicking and festivities at the George and Dragon.

There will be Halloween tapas, party games, tarrot reading, costume prizes, and live music. If you bring your own carved pumpkin you’ll even get a free shot.

Scooby Doo Halloween at The Old Ale and Coffee House
It looks like we’ve got another mystery on our hands…

After the rugby on Saturay 30th September a Scooby Doo Halloween party will take over The Old Ale and Coffee House with live music from No Way Out.

Fancy dress is encouraged with spooky cocktails being served all night.

Halloween at the Gate
Join the Winchester Gate from 8pm on Saturday 30th October as they celebrate all things Halloween!

There will be live music and visuals from DOGHOUSE, prizes for the most scary fancy dress, blood curdling cocktails and ghoulishly terrifying DJ sets.
