Salisbury District Hospital has confirmed the death of a patient who tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday 18th October.
A spokesperson said, “Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Monday 18th October. The patient was in his 90s and had underlying health conditions.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time“.
224 patients in total have now passed away.
There are currently 16 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
“We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus, and to take up the offer of vaccines when they are offered them”.
