A busy week of ‘enrichment’ for Bemerton St John

Bemerton St John Primary School enjoyed an exciting and engaging enrichment week!

A range of activities were planned to complement their broad and balanced curriculum, which was developed to inspire, nurture potential, and enable all children to flourish.

Following their Sports Day, they welcomed Jason Gardener, MBE, into their school.

Jason is an Olympic Gold Medalist and the owner of Team Super Schools.

The children had the opportunity to take part in some fun, active exercises, followed by an inspiring presentation by Jason, during which he talked about his achievements and his journey to success. It was a wonderful, enjoyable morning.

The whole school then visited Marwell Zoo, where children were in mixed-aged groups whilst exploring the range of animals.

Pupils upheld the school’s ethos and values throughout the excursion, consistently demonstrating respect, kindness, and thankfulness.

The older pupils supported younger members of the school to make the most of the experience, which was overflowing with awe and wonder.

On the subsequent day, these mixed-aged groups joined together once more to create wonderful artwork inspired by the animals they encountered at the zoo.

Headteacher, Mrs Pearce, said, “The children produced some amazing pieces that will be proudly displayed in the school.

“The week culminated in a super Olympic-themed summer fete on Saturday, 29th June, run by the school’s dedicated team of FoBS (Friends of Bemerton School) and enjoyed by all that attended.

“All in all, the week was a huge success and was a brilliant way for the whole of the Bemerton St John community to work, learn and have fun together.”
