Work due to take place at Brown Street Car Park, Salisbury

Work by Wiltshire Council will be starting on the main footpath at Brown Street Car Park in Salisbury and some nearby trees from next week (25th July 2022).

The work is expected to last for five working days. During this time, a temporary footpath will be set up adjacent to the existing one to allow people to cross the car park. Clear signage will be visible in the area.

The work is part of the council’s planned maintenance programme which aims to help reduce trip hazards on the footpath caused by five trees in the area.

Work will be carried out on the base of the trees that will not only make the footpath safer but also help protect the tree roots for the longer term.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Operational Assets, said, “This is a well-used car park and footpath so this work, which forms part of our maintenance programme, will make the area safer and also help protect the roots of the trees.

“We will ensure to keep disruption to the public to a minimum.”
