Salisbury District Hospital is releasing a series of videos highlighting some of the teams that are dedicated to caring for the people of Salisbury this winter.
The sixth video in the series focuses on the capable and caring Paediatrics Team.
As Seb Gray, Paediatrics Consultant, says, the team does their “absolute best to make what can be an incredibly stressful, worrying and scary time for children and young people and their parents, as best and as nice experience as possible."
The hospital’s Paediatrics Team has been delivering care throughout the pandemic, 24/7. You can meet some of them here:
A spokesperson said, "Salisbury Hospital has over 4500 staff working together to care for our community. There are doctors, nurses, midwives and therapists. There are porters, scientists, managers, electricians, carpenters, telephonists and chefs. Everyone there is dedicated to providing and supporting compassionate high-quality care. The hospital also works with local GPs, the ambulance service, NHS 111 and the local Walk-in Centre, to provide help 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
"The hospital is among the array of NHS services here to help you when you need it. It has inpatient and outpatient services, and A&E for life-threatening or very serious conditions. Other services which could treat you include your GP and pharmacist, as well as the local Walk-in Centre. If you’re unsure of the right treatment for your illness or injury, contact NHS 111 online or by phone.
"But whatever your illness or injury, please don’t delay finding out how it can best be treated.
"We want to keep everybody safe – our patients, visitors and staff, so if you do need to come to our hospital be sure to follow all of our hygiene and COVID-19 guidelines, which include wearing facemasks, observing social distancing, handwashing and some restrictions on visiting.
"COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations are readily available, so if you’re eligible for first, second or booster COVID-19 vaccination and the Flu jab - please book them as soon as possible."
