We Love Where We Live! – Fun Days for all this summer

Join Salisbury City Council’s Communities Team and their community partners as they celebrate locations around the city with four collaborative ‘We Love’ Fun Days this summer.

Salisbury City Council’s free fun days have been a staple in the summer calendars at Bishopdown Rec, Pinewood Green in Bemerton, Harnham and The Friary Estate for many years.

These events have always provided a fun day out for the community and a chance to get together. This year they will focus more on all the wonderful things and people that make up those communities.

These first ‘We Love Where We Live’ events will still include the full range of fun activities residents have come to expect, including music from the Disco Dion Team, activities such as climbing walls, craft and creative play from Wiltshire Creative, Salisbury Museum and Spurgeons but each “We Love” Fun Day will be specific to the community they are in.

This work began last summer by establishing a partnership between the Harnham Parish and the Council’s Communities team. The We Love Harnham event will bring the Harnham Parish Fete and the Fun Day into one big celebration this summer.

Revd Becky Roberts, Vicar of Harnham, says: ‘We know how many people in Harnham love where they live, so we are really excited to be working with Salisbury City Council and Harnham Community Network to celebrate this at the We Love Harnham Fun Day and Parish Fete. There will be fun for all the family, thanks to the generous support of Salisbury City Council, as well as sideshows, stalls, and refreshments to raise funds for the work of Harnham Parish.’

Across the three other fun days, the team will be working with amazing community assets, including Residents Associations and community panels, RISE 61, colleagues at Wiltshire Council, local churches, and sports clubs.
