Voting begins in the 2024 General Election in Salisbury

Polling stations have opened across Salisbury and all over the UK as voting begins in the 2024 general election.

Polling stations opened at 7 am this morning and close at 10 pm tonight. Votes will be counted overnight at Five Rivers Leisure Centre.

You can vote as long as you are in the queue by 10 pm.

You can only vote at your local polling station, which might not be the same as in previous elections.

The address is on your polling card, or you can find details online.

You must have a suitable form of Voter ID with you to vote.

You will only need to show one form of photo ID. It needs to be the original, not a photocopy or a digital version.

You can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate, if:

you don't have an accepted form of photo ID you're not sure whether your photo ID still looks like you you're worried about using an existing form of ID for any other reason, such as the use of a gender marker
