Today (25th August 2021) saw Salisbury’s first pop-up vaccine clinic at Brown Street.
The pop-up was a first for the City Hall vaccination team and saw people aged 18-39 being invited to have their COVID-19 jab in a familiar and fun venue.
A small number of around 10-15 people were vaccinated today to allow the team to figure out the logistics of a vaccine pop-up. After today, other locations will be considered for future pop-ups.
Beth Doherty, Head of News and Content here at Love Salisbury, got her second dose at Brown Street this morning.
“It was a really relaxed experience getting my second jab at Brown Street. The sun was shining, there was a really chilled atmosphere, and there were lots of friendly faces.
“It was nice to know that venues I love, such as Brown Street and The Chapel, can now reopen - largely thanks to the success of vaccines. Here’s to the wonderful City Hall vaccination team!” She said.
Commenting on today's pop up COVID-19 vaccination session, Fiona Hyett, Director of the Salisbury City Hall Vaccination Centre said:
"It was great to be working outside in a sunny relaxed environment. Those that had booked appointments were in and out very quickly and all were happy to be getting the COVID vaccine.
“The team are pleased with how this trial session went. We will now have a review and explore the feasibility of doing similar clinics in the coming weeks. A huge thank you to The Chapel for working with us on this important initiative and making our team so welcome".
