An 18-year-old man from the Marlborough area has been arrested for a number of driving offences, including drink driving, following a crash near Figheldean in the early hours of Saturday morning.
In a statement, police said, "The vehicle crashed following a sharp bend in the road near Figheldean following a police pursuit.
"A police dog van was also involved and collided with the wall on the bend.
"A police officer was airlifted to hospital to be treated for head injuries, thought to be non-life threatening or life-changing. A teenage passenger was also taken to hospital with injuries thought to be minor.
"The driver, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, failing to stop and -dangerous driving. He remains in police custody for questioning.
"The police dogs in the vehicle at the time were not injured and are being looked after while our handler recovers.
